"look in" in Japanese

ちょっと立ち寄る中をのぞく

Definition

誰かの家などに少しだけ立ち寄ること、または何かを確認するために中をさっと見ること。

カジュアルな表現で、急に立ち寄る場合やちょっと中を見る時に使われます。アメリカ英語では「drop by」「stop in」が似た意味です。「look into」とは違います。

I'm going to look in on my grandmother after school.

学校のあとでおばあちゃんのところに**ちょっと立ち寄る**よ。
