スポーツでサイドラインを見て、ボールやパックが外に出た時に合図をしたり、判定を補助したりする審判員です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にイギリス英語で使われ、サッカーやテニスでよく見られます。アメリカ英語では別の役職名になることがあります。審判員のみを指し、線を描く人には使いません。
