誰かや何かを止めずに通してあげること、または行動せずにチャンスや瞬間を逃すこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

直訳は物理的に通すこと、比喩的にはチャンスを逃す意味。日常会話で多用。『チャンスを逃すな』などにも使う。
