"leave for dead" in Japanese
Definition
誰か（または何か）を生きて帰れないと考えて見捨てること。比喩的に、助けや支援を一切せずにあきらめる場合にも使われる。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
深刻な状況やドラマチックな場面で使われる。'was left for dead'（見殺しにされた）のように受け身で使うことが多い。カジュアルな場面では避ける。
