Definition

あることに賭けを申し出てオッズ（配当倍率）を提示する、または何かが起こると強く信じる。予測に自信がある時によく使う表現。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にギャンブルや、気軽な会話で強い予想・自信を表す時に使う（例："I'd lay odds he'll win"）。本当に賭ける意味とは限らず、あくまで確信の表現。フォーマルな文章ではあまり使わない。
