Definition

ドアなどを足で強く蹴って開ける・壊すこと。比喩的に、大きな障害を力ずくで乗り越える時にも使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

警察や緊急時の状況でよく使われる口語表現。「kick down the door（ドアを蹴破る）」のように使い、実際に蹴る場合と比喩的な意味の両方で使われる。下に蹴り落とす意味ではあまり使わない。
