Definition

何かや誰かを見逃さないように、注意深く周囲を観察することを意味します。危険やチャンスに気づくためによく使われます。

カジュアルな表現で、「警戒して」「注意して見ていて」という意味。'keep your eyes open'や'be on the lookout'と同様の使われ方。実際に目の皮をむく意味ではありません。
