非常に厳しく、容赦なく強い支配や指導を表す表現。柔軟さや寛容さがほとんどない状態を意味します。

主に権威的・厳格なリーダーや上司に対して、やや否定的に使われることが多いです。'iron fist'は物理的な意味では使いません。
