특정 목적이나 의미로 생각하거나 만들다. 의도나 목적을 설명할 때 자주 사용됨.

의도가 무엇인지 명확히 할 때 사용('intend as a joke'). 명사나 구 뒤에 옴. 오해 방지에 자주 쓰임. 'mean'보다 격식 있음.
