두 사건 사이의 시간 동안이나 무언가를 기다리는 동안 일어나는 일을 말할 때 사용합니다.

구어와 문어에서 모두 자주 쓰입니다. 'meanwhile'은 보통 문두에 오지만, '그동안'은 상황에 따라 자유롭게 쓸 수 있습니다.
