यह अभिव्यक्ति थोड़ी औपचारिक या साहित्यिक है। आम तौर पर सामाजिक असहजता दिखाने के लिए ‘feel’, ‘look’, ‘seem’ जैसे क्रियाओं के साथ आती है। आम बात-चीत में 'uncomfortable' या 'nervous' कहा जाता है।
