Definition

शब्दों को जोड़ने या अलग करने के लिए हाइफ़न (-) का उपयोग करना, आमतौर पर लिखने में संयुक्त शब्द बनाने या शब्दों को लाइन के अंत में विभाजित करने के लिए।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

मुख्यतः औपचारिक या शैक्षिक लेखन में प्रयुक्त। संयुक्त विशेषण के साथ ('well-known'), लाइन ब्रेक या स्पष्टता के लिए सामान्य। इसे 'डैश' (लंबी विराम) से न मिलाएँ।
