何かを急いでやるために、またはどこかに向かうために大急ぎで走ったり動いたりすること。気軽で勢いのある場面に使われる表現。

日常会話やカジュアルな場面で使われます。フォーマルな文章にはあまり合いません。「hotfooting it」は、元気に急ぐ時や急な用事のときに用います。
