Definition

延遲做某事，或讓某人等等再開始或採取行動。也可以指暫時阻止某事發生。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

非正式用法，常和 'on' 一起用（如 hold off on something）。多用於等待更好時機才做決定或行動。不表示實際的“拿住”。與 put off 不同，hold off 有時表示有意抵抗或延遲。
