Retrasar o posponer hacer algo, o hacer que alguien espere antes de empezar o tomar acción. También puede significar evitar que algo suceda por un tiempo.

Expresión informal, común con 'on' ('hold off on something'). Se usa al retrasar decisiones o acciones, especialmente al esperar el mejor momento. No se refiere a sostener físicamente. Diferente de 'put off', ya que 'hold off' puede implicar resistencia o espera intencional.
