Definition

何かを繰り返し叩くこと、または野球でコーチの指示に従って思いきり打つこと。連続して打つ、または始めて良いという意味で使われる。

主にスポーツ、特に野球でよく使われ、『どんどん打て！』という意味の指示です。日常会話では何かを繰り返し叩く時に使われますが、強い一発では使いません。また、'hit back'（やり返す）と混同しないよう注意。

The coach told him to hit away during practice.

コーチは練習中、彼に**ひたすら打つ**ように言った。

If you want to open the box, just hit away at the lid.

箱を開けたいなら、ふたを**ひたすら叩いてみて**。
