グラチュイティとは、サービスへの感謝として主な支払いとは別に渡す少額の金銭や、特別な場面で与えられる金銭の贈り物のことです。

日常会話では「チップ」が一般的で、「グラチュイティ」は改まった場面で使われます。雇用契約の退職金・一時金としても使われることがあります。

He left a gratuity for the waiter.
