自分が他の人より偉いかのように振る舞うこと。多くの場合、傲慢または気取った態度で使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

やや古めかしい、非公式な表現です。'give yourself airs' としても使われます。偉ぶる、威張っている人を批判する文脈で使われます。'put on airs' とほぼ同義。'give air'（風を送る）とは別意味。
