金メッキギルト（未経産の若い雌豚）

金や金色に見える薄い層のこと。畜産用語では、まだ子豚を産んでいない若い雌豚も指す。

『金メッキ』はフォーマルや文学的な表現で、日常会話にはあまり出てきません。畜産分野では『ギルト』は若い未経産雌豚。『gilt』と『guilt』は違う語です。『gilt-edged』＝「高品質」を意味します。
