혹시 ~할까 봐~할 우려로

나쁜 일이 일어날까 봐 무언가를 피하는 상황에서 쓰는 표현이다.

'~할까 봐'는 대체로 구어체, '~할 우려로'는 더 격식 있음. 주로 문장 중간에 사용되고 뒤에 '~할까 봐', '~할 위험이 있어서'와 함께 쓴다.

She lowered her voice for fear that someone might hear.

누군가 들을까 **혹시** 그녀는 목소리를 낮췄다.
