命じる禁ずる（法律用語）

Definition

誰かに正式に何かをするよう命令したり、法的に何かをするのを禁じたりすること。

法律や公式な場面で使われる正式な表現です。「enjoy」とは意味が全く異なります。「to do」を命じたり、「from doing」で禁止したりします。

The judge enjoined the company from polluting the river.

裁判官は会社に川を汚さないよう**命じた**。

The contract enjoins both parties to keep the information secret.

契約は両当事者に情報を秘密にするよう**命じている**。

Parents often enjoin their children to be polite.

親はよく子供に礼儀正しくするように**命じる**。

After the accident, the court enjoined him from driving for three years.
