エフェンディは、オスマン帝国や一部中東地域で男性に対する尊敬や敬称として使われた歴史的な称号で、「サー」や「ご主人様」に似ています。

現代日本語ではほとんど使われませんが、歴史小説や中東に関する話題、または伝統的な場面で見かけることがあります。日常会話では使われません。
