誰かや何かを車などで目的地に連れて行って、そこに置いていくこと。また、何かを渡したり、量が急に減ることも指します。

主に誰かを車などで送り届ける場合によく使われます（例：'Can you drop me off at the station?'）。荷物の配達や急激な減少にも使われます。'pick up'（迎えに行く）とは区別してください。'drop off the kids'、'drop the kids off'どちらも使われます。
