Bir şey 'çöpe gitmek' demek; tamamen boşa gitmesi, harcanması ya da işe yaramaz hale gelmesidir.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
Gündelik ve samimi bir ifadedir. Planlar, para veya fırsatlar boşa gittiğinde kullanılır; insanlar için kullanılmaz. 'Down the drain' ile de aynı anlamdadır.
