ドセントは、美術館や博物館で見学者に作品や展示を説明するガイドのことです。また、国によっては大学の准教授を指します。

美術館や博物館では「ガイド」としてよく使われ、大学では「准教授」という職位を指すこともあります。「先生」や「教授」とは異なります。
