使某事或某人改变方向，离开原本路径或注意力。可以指物理上的改道，也可以是改变注意力或关注点。

正式和非正式语境都可用。常与交通（'diverts traffic'）、注意力（'diverts attention'）、资源（'diverts funds'）连用。既可以是字面上的方向改变，也可以是比喻的注意力转移。不要与 'converts'（转变）或 'inverts'（反转）混淆。
