話や文章で本題から外れて、関係ない話や話題に移ること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

フォーマルやアカデミックな場面でよく使われ、『Sorry, I'm digressing.』のような形で自分が脱線している時に使います。カジュアルな俗語ではありません。
