迂回路回り道

Definition

直接な道が工事などで使えないときに利用する別の道やルートのこと。目標にたどり着くための遠回りや予想外の経路も指すことがある。

運転や工事の際によく使うが、比喩的に「人生の迂回路」などにも使う。「take a detour」は「遠回りをする」こと。遅れる意味ではなく、新しい経路のこと。

Due to construction, drivers had to take detours.

工事のため、運転手たちは**迂回路**を通らなければならなかった。
