使某事變髒、不純潔或不再神聖，尤其指損害純潔、榮譽或美麗。也可指損害某人的名譽。
Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))
正式且偏重於文學或宗教語境，多用於描述神聖、受敬重的事物，例如“褻瀆聖殿”、“玷污榮譽”。亦可轉喻名譽或純潔被損害。日常髒污則用「弄髒」、「污染」。
