予期せぬ、小さなトラブルや気まずい出来事で、人に少し不便や恥ずかしさをもたらすもの。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にフォーマルや文学で使われ、日常会話ではあまり使いません。「mishap（事故）」よりも気まずさや恥ずかしさのニュアンスがあります。大きなトラブルには使いません。
