よく考えた上で何かに同意、または正式な許可を与えている人を指します。主に合意や許可の場面で使われます。

多くの場合、名詞の前に形容詞として使います（例：'consenting adults'「同意している大人」）。法律や倫理に関わる場面でよく用いられます。「agreeing」とはニュアンスが異なります。
