Definition
কিছু নড়াচড়া শেষে কোনো বস্তু বা ব্যক্তি যখন এক স্থানে থেমে একদম স্থির হয়ে যায়।
Usage Notes (Bengali)
বর্ণনামূলক বা বৈজ্ঞানিক লেখায় বা গল্পে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়। সাধারনত গাড়ি, বল, কয়েন ইত্যাদির জন্য ব্যবহার হয়, চিন্তা বা অনুভূতির জন্য নয়।
Examples
The ball rolled down the hill and came to rest by the tree.
বলটি পাহাড় বেয়ে গড়িয়ে গিয়ে গাছের পাশে **স্থির হয়ে গেল**।
After a long journey, the car came to rest in front of the house.
একটা দীর্ঘ যাত্রার পর, গাড়িটি বাড়ির সামনে এসে **স্থির হয়ে গেল**।
When the wind stopped, the leaves came to rest on the ground.
