叱りつけるガミガミ言う

Definition

誰かが失敗したり悪いことをした時に、怒って厳しく叱ること。

くだけた言い方で、上司や親などが部下や子供に対して使うことが多い。「tell off」よりも強い表現。食べることとは無関係。

My teacher chewed out the class for being late.

先生はクラスが遅刻したことで**叱りつけた**。
