"chew out" in Spanish
Definition
Regañar o criticar a alguien muy fuertemente y con enojo, generalmente por cometer un error o portarse mal.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Expresión muy informal y coloquial. Se suele usar cuando una figura de autoridad (jefe, padre) regaña fuertemente a alguien. Es más fuerte que 'regañar' o 'llamar la atención'. No tiene significado literal relacionado con masticar.
