경로상에서 사람이나 차량을 검사하는 장소, 또는 게임에서 진행 상황이 저장되는 지점을 말합니다.

'검문소'는 군대, 경찰, 여행 등에서 쓰이고, 게임에서는 저장 지점 의미로 '체크포인트'를 사용합니다. 공항 검색대 등 일상 보안 검사에는 쓰지 않습니다.
