Definition

কোনো ঘটনা বা দুর্ঘটনার সময় যারা সেখানে উপস্থিত থাকলেও বিশিষ্টভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করেন না; কেবল দেখেন।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Bystander' সাধারণত নিরপেক্ষ শব্দ হলেও, কেউ কোন বিপদে সাহায্য না করলে নেতিবাচক অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে। সংবাদ, অপরাধ, বা দুর্ঘটনার ক্ষেত্রে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'Witness'-এর চেয়ে আলাদা; তারা সাক্ষ্য দেয় না।
