Formal o técnico cuando se refiere al procesamiento de carne; informal o crítico en sentido figurado ('butchering a song' = hacerlo muy mal). No se usa para cocinar común, sino para trabajo especializado o tosco con carne. En sentido figurado, implica fuerte desaprobación.
