건물이나 큰 구조물이 완전히 불에 타서 사라지는 것. 사람이 불을 낼 수도 있고, 자연적으로 타버릴 수도 있음.

주로 건물이나 큰 구조물에 사용하며, 소형 물건에는 사용하지 않음. 능동태(누가 불을 냄)도, 수동태(자연적으로 탐)도 가능. 일상적인 표현임.
