Definition

水面に浮かべて位置を示したり、警告や案内をしたりする装置です。安全確保のためにも使われます。

'ブイ'は主に海や湖、プールなどの水上標識として使われます。「ライフブイ」「マーカーブイ」などの用法があります。英語発音にはイギリスとアメリカで違いがあります。

The buoys in the lake show where it is safe to swim.
