「bps」は「bits per second」の略で、データ通信やインターネットの速度を表す単位です。1秒間に何ビット転送されるかを示します。

「bps」は技術的・ネットワーク関連の話題で使います。数値と一緒に使い、「kbps」「Mbps」など上位単位もよく使われます。日常会話ではあまり使われません。
