Definition
Um espiráculo é uma abertura no topo da cabeça de alguns mamíferos marinhos, como baleias e golfinhos, usada para respirar. Também pode se referir a um buraco em rochas ou no solo por onde sai ar ou água.

Geralmente usado para a abertura nas baleias e golfinhos ('espiráculo'). Também pode indicar um buraco em rochas próximo ao mar por onde a água é expelida. Em geologia, 'blowhole' descreve respiradouros naturais. Não se aplica a humanos ou animais terrestres.
