কিছু পুরোটাই ধ্বংস বা বিস্ফোরণের মাধ্যমে ছোট ছোট টুকরা করে ফেলা।

অনেকটাই সরাসরি বা নাটকীয় পরিস্থিতিতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'স্মিথারিনস' মানে খুব ছোট টুকরা। 'blow to smithereens' মানে পুরোপুরি ধ্বংস হয়ে যাওয়া।
