किसी सही मौके या समय का उद्देश्यपूर्ण ढंग से धैर्यपूर्वक इंतजार करना।

'Bide' औपचारिक है और प्राय: केवल 'bide your time' वाक्यांश में मिलता है, जिससे तात्पर्य है अवसर आने तक शांत रहना। सामान्यतः Waiting के लिए अकेले इस्तेमाल नहीं होता।
