"Bemused" का तात्पर्य हल्की उलझन या सोच में पड़ जाना है, कभी-कभी थोड़ी हंसी के साथ। इसे "amused" (मनोरंजन होना) से न मिलाएं। आम तौर पर औपचारिक या साहित्यिक शैली में इस्तेमाल होता है।
