"Belly up" é uma expressão informal usada para indicar que algo faliu, fracassou ou deixou de funcionar. Literalmente, também pode descrever um animal morto de barriga para cima.

Bastante informal, utiliza-se para empresas ou projetos ('the company went belly up'). O significado literal aplica-se mais a peixes mortos. Não se usa em situações formais. Equivalente a 'ir à falência', 'colapsar'.
