'Be on' significa que algo está acontecendo agora, especialmente um evento começando, um programa passando ou algo está ligado.

Geralmente se refere a aparelhos (TV, luzes) ou eventos que estão ativos. Uso informal e oral. Não confundir com 'be onto' (descobrir algo). 'What's on?' significa 'O que está passando?'. Também valida eventos: 'The meeting is on.' = 'A reunião está confirmada.'
