Definition

ビーチやプールなど公共の場所で水に入って泳いだり、くつろいだりしている人。必ずしも泳いでいるとは限らない。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

日常会話ではあまり使われず、ニュースや説明文で見かける表現です。「swimmer（泳ぐ人）」と違い、水に浸かっているだけの人も含みます。自宅での入浴には用いません。
