Definition
Se alguém está hesitando, de repente não quer fazer algo ou hesita em continuar. Também pode significar recusar-se a aceitar algo.

Expressão formal ou semiformal, usada quando pessoas ou animais hesitam ou recusam ('balking at a request'). Geralmente aparece com 'at': 'balking at the idea'. Não confundir com 'baking' ('assar').
