Los toldos son láminas de material sujetas sobre ventanas, puertas o patios para dar sombra o proteger de la lluvia y el sol.

Normalmente se refiere a cubiertas de tela o metal, situadas en el exterior de edificios, especialmente sobre ventanas, puertas o tiendas. Es común decir 'toldos retráctiles' o 'toldos de lona'. 'Canopy' en inglés puede referirse a una estructura más grande o a toldos independientes.
