未来に何かが起こることを予兆するしるしや出来事のこと。良いこと悪いこと両方に使われます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
日常会話ではあまり使われず、歴史や文学、詩で使われるフォーマルな表現です。「omen」「portent」とも意味が近いです。
